In this class, you will gain the skills necessary to direct and prepare for your own stop-motion short. Animation Pre-Production (for Stop Motion) is a pragmatic approach perfect for:

 

    • Animators familiar with another medium (2D, 3D) but new to stop motion
    • Stop motion animators who have worked under others but never made a self-motivated project!
    • This class is also recommended for parents who wish to assist their artistic child in completing their own stop motion film but do not have artistic skills themselves.

Students will follow through the step-by-step process of creating an Animatic and preparing for a film. Much of the information in this class may be useful if you are self-starting a 2D or 3D animation as well.

Software demos are in After Effects (Part of an Adobe CC subscription), though the class is completable with cheaper alternatives such as; Blender or Shotcut to edit in.
